My Lords,
In reference to the contemplated change in the departure of the Peninsular & Oriental Mail Steamers from the Port of Falmouth to Southampton, a letter was addressed by the secretary of this association to your Lordship the Postmaster General on the 12th inst., of which the following is a transcript:
"I am directed by the Chairman of this Association, in reference to the proposed change in the departure of the Peninsular and Oriental Mail Steamers from the Port of Falmouth to Southampton, to beg that your Lordship may be pleased to authorize the closing of the Mail in London for India posted here on the last day of the month..."
"...to be aware that your Lordship's delay in dispatching Letters from London on the last day of the month have reached Falmouth..."
